The second stage of the trek!

After resting at the Bordes de Graus campsite, we climb up to the Guerossos hut on a rainy day. Luckily, the weather holds, and we have time to leave our backpacks and climb to Tuc de la Roia or Marterat, situated at 2,666 metres altitude, right on the border with France. We descend and spend the afternoon in the warmth of the hut playing cards while it rains non-stop outside.

The next day we wake up in the mist and set off for the Certascan Refuge. We pass by Estany Blau and climb up to the Certascan peak, at 2,853 metres, with spectacular views over a sea of fog. Before dinner, we still have time to swim in the Certascan Lake, the largest natural lake in the Pyrenees, located in the Alt Pirineu Natural Park. We end the day with dinner at the Certascan Refuge. On the menu: courgette cream, cannelloni, and meatballs – delicious!

The next day, on our way back, we take the opportunity to climb the peak of Coulatch, located at 2,603 metres, and descend through the Romedo ponds to the Pla de Boavi. There a taxi will be waiting to take us to the Aran Valley for the next and final stage.

Once in the Aran Valley and before facing the final challenge of the Aneto, we spend a rest day in a beautiful campsite, where we have time to play football and frisbee. It seems that summer and warm weather have finally arrived, and we celebrate by swimming in the pool.
